Fiddlehead Center partners with Afterschool for All
In the U.S. today, more than 14 million children - 1 in 4 youth are on their own after school. These children face grave risks. They are also missing out on opportunities to learn and grow. Afterschool programs keep kids safe, help working families and inspire learning. Our nation's families and communities know these programs are important. Nine in ten Americans, across party line, demographic group, geography and age have said for five consecutive years that they think all children should have access to afterschool programs.
Afterschool for All: Project 2010 brings together individuals and organizations from across the nation who support the vision that all children and youth deserve access to quality, affordable afterschool programs by the year 2010.
What do Project 2010 Partners believe?
Afterschool for All: Project 2010 partners believe in the importance of universal access to afterschool for all youth in the U.S. by the year 2010. Partners agree that afterschool programs:

- Work in collaboration with schools and community resources to offer children and youth an array of accessible and diverse services and opportunities.
- romote positive relationships among children, youth, families and adults.
- Engage children, youth, families, schools and community partners in ongoing design, implementation and evaluation of activities.
